I received this Oliso Multimat as a gift and had to give it a try. I wasn’t too sure about the holes for the connectors – I learned that the connecters should be placed underneath. They are easy to pop in and out – connecting several mats together in whatever shape is needed.

I’ve tried several wool pressing mats and this one made me happy. So happy that I bought another one so I can cover the entire top of my modified table top pressing station. Two of these mats can be connected to create a 14″ x 28″ pressing surface – or used individually. Perfect for my needs.

Wool Pressing Multimat by Oliso

The Oliso Wool Pressing MultiMat™ is a 100% New Zealand wool pressing mat, 14”x 14” that is ½” thick wool felt, ideal for quilting and sewing; unique ProPress Link™ system lets you customize the size and shape of your pressing area with 4 connectors.

  • Superior performance: 100% New Zealand wool, ½” (13mm) thick dense wool fibers iron both sides of the fabric simultaneously for quicker professional-level pressing.
  • Customize your pressing area: ProPress links lets you join any number of mats together to create your ideal pressing space. The links made of durable, high-quality, heat-resistant silicone are reusable over and over. Links fit snugly in the mat, creating a smooth pressing surface, and preventing the mat from sliding. Each mat is sold separately and includes four Links.
  • The natural wool fibers: hold projects flat and in place, helping to prevent stretching while pressing. ProPress mats work great with Oliso Mini Project and Smart irons.
  • Size: 14” x 14” (35.6cm x 35.6cm) mat is large enough for most pressing projects and convenient placement next to your sewing machine while still compact enough for easy storage and travel. The ½” (13mm) thickness enhances your pressing projects by providing the ideal surface.
  • Join several mats with the ProPress Link system when larger areas are needed.

An important note about wool pressing mats:

  • Wool felt pressing mats are not hot iron rests.
  • Wool is a natural fiber that will scorch with prolonged exposure to a hot iron, this includes an auto-lift iron in the raised position. Reduce the heat or use a silicone iron rest when leaving a hot iron in one place for an extended period of time.
  • Felt mats are porous, allowing steam and heat to pass through, so always place mats on a suitable heat and moisture resistant surface during use.
