Each month – I’m participating in a Block Remix Challenge on Instagram with a group of other pattern designers. We all start with the same traditional quilt block – and then we “remix” that block into something else entirely. It’s great fun to see how differently we each approach the challenge. It can really get one’s creative juices flowing!
And now – It’s that time – the April Block Remix Challenge – Reveal. We’ve been teasing you on Instagram all month – but today’s the day you get to see what we’ve all been working on.
I turned the this month’s challenge block (the Hourglass block) into a Hydrangea blossom. If I were to make it again – I’d leave out the green triangles in the blossom itself – but all in all, I like how it turned out. Almost 500 pieces in this 20″ x 20″ block. (I might be a bit crazy !!)
Be sure to check out the other designers block reveals – everyone has come up with such different ideas. That’s one of the fun things about these challenges – seeing how everyone approaches the same simple block – so differently.
Want to see this block – and all the others on my Instagram page? Check it out here: @deb.quiltblox I’d love it if you decided to follow me there.
