As a quilt shop owner – going to Quilt Market is often high on the list of priorities for choosing new products to add to the shop. Not open to the public – Quilt Market is where shop owners get early access to all the new fabrics, tools, notions, and other goodies that will be coming out soon. Quilt Market is held twice a year (except during Covid). The Spring show moves around the country on a rotating schedule (including Portland). The Fall show is always held in Houston – right before the International Quilt Festival (which is open to the public).
I’ve been to the Spring Quilt Market the last three times it has been held in Portland, but I’ve never made the time to go to Fall Quilt Market. Held in October in Houston – this will be the first time that I will be attending the Fall Market. I might be a bit excited!
So … what kinds of things will I be looking for? I’m on a mission to find the best new … everything … that I think you and I might find useful. Attending the show gives me the opportunity to try out new tools and notions, read through the newest books and patterns, and meet with other designers and shop owners.
I’m going to gather up all the fun goodies and bring them back to add to the shop. I’ll share the details about each new goodie I find with you.
Question for you – is there anything specific you’d like me to look for? Something that would make your quilting process easier, new patterns, tools – or anything else you’ve been thinking about? If there is – I’d love to add it to my list. I’ll search out the options at the show and let you know what I find.
