Crown of Stars was a fun pattern to create! It’s based on a traditional block and set without sashing – resulting in a beautiful secondary design.
This quilt was one of the 9 Quilts of Valor I created for family members who have served in our nation’s military. Each one was as unique are the family members themselves. This one was created for my husband who served in the US Navy.
Like my other multi-size patterns – Crown of Stars includes instructions for 5 different project sizes (pillow, runner, crib, throw, and twin) – each with and without borders.

While I made mine in patriotic colors – this design is beautiful in a wide variety of color palettes. I’ve recolored a few examples below to give you some ideas for making your own version of Crown of Stars.
