Did you have fun with Row x Row – The Great Outdoors this year? What a fun concept it was to do it all online – everyone was able to visit every participating shop, without the travel time.
As you are getting ready to make your Row by Row Great Outdoors quilts, I need you to know about a small typo in the quilt setting instructions. There’s a button you can click on (below) that will display the corrected version of the pattern. Print it out, and you are good to go.
This year, the Row X Row theme was The Great Outdoors, and the fabrics selected to bring this theme to life are gorgeous! Northcott has created a grouping of fabrics in four different colorways and geographic representations – Desert, Meadow, Mountain, and Ocean. No matter where you live in this beautiful country, you can create a quilt that represents your favorite landscape. You can see them HERE.
I’ll show you how I used these gorgeous fabrics in a minute, but first, you need to know that this year:
- [1] The event ran from July 1 to August 31 – by now you should be busy making your quilts with all those gorgeous fabrics!
- [2] The rows are 9″ x 18″ (9-1/2″ x 18-1/2″), and they can be designed either horizontally or vertically.
- [3] The Quilt Setting Pattern I have designed is completely FREE to you.
And now for the fun part …
I’ve created a design that is pretty easy to construct, whether the rows you collect are vertical or horizontal.
I’ve used each of the four colorways of the Official Shop Hop Fabrics to create a border that makes the sashing and your rows appear to “float”. I think it’s a pretty cool effect – I hope you do too! Here’s a look:
Can’t wait to get started? Me Too!
Grab your copy of the pattern (it’s absolutely free to all Row X Row participants) so you have it handy when you are making up your quilt.
Please note: As I noted above – there was a small typo in the original pattern – thanks so very much to Melody C. for reaching out to me so I could get it corrected. The link below takes you to the corrected version.
If this is your first visit to Quiltblox – I’m so delighted you are here! I hope you’ll take a minute to wander around a bit – there’s lots to see (and if you hit the green button below – you’ll have a great newsletter to look forward to on Saturday mornings).
