Shout Color Catcher Sheets for Laundry
These little sheets are magic. I found out about them from a friend in our Quilts of Valor group and started using them regularly. She recommended taking 3 sheets – tearing them in half and tossing them in the washer along with my newly made quilt (or any wash load with new clothes in it).
I wash the quilt until the sheets come out perfectly white. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 washes to get to that point (don’t dry in between washes). After that, no more worries about fabric bleeding. They look a lot like dryer sheets, but work to trap the fabric dyes released in the washing of fabrics. Just so you know – I usually get these in the grocery store – but I can’t always find them, so I thought I’d share them here to make them easy for you (and me) to find.
