The 2023 Metropolitan Patchwork Society – Earth Day Quilt Show was held just a few days ago and I have to tell you – I’m so inspired by the creativity of these fellow quilt guild members. No – I didn’t enter a quilt this year – I’m shooting for next year. The MPS Earth Day Quilt Show was held at the Beaverton City Library – after an absence of 3 years due to Covid. It was so nice to be back!
I did my best to get a photo of every quilt – if I missed yours – please send me a picture and I’ll include it in the gallery below.
These amazing quilters really showed up this year. Many entered several quilts – in different categories in the show. Some of these quilts are original designs by the quilter themselves, others are their interpretation of commercially available patterns. Many (like the TOTE group) are part of small group challenges and others have been made to be donated.
The show featured a demo station where visitors could watch (and participate in learning) about hand piecing and quilting. Visitors were also encouraged to vote for their favorite quilts in each category – and their favorite quilt overall.
I’ve included as many pictures as I had – please enjoy the gallery!
