A Fabric Storage Goal for 2023 – Tame the Stash

By Deb - Quiltblox on January 10, 2023January 29, 2023

I was honored to be interviewed by Lynn Woll of Create Whimsey. The topic was Fabric Storage and ideas for organizing your creative space. She interviewed lots of other creators and shared what she learned in an article that was chock full of great ideas – no matter your chosen craft or your comfort with a cluttered (or not) workspace.

I found so many interesting ideas that were shared by the other creators – I got inspired to make some changes to my own creative workspace.

If you know me at all, you know that being organized is an extremely high priority for me. Clutter of any kind in my own workspace makes me crazy. I love everything to have a place – and to be put back in its place when I’m done using it.

My studio space is such a gift – I love having a separate space to create in. I have places for all my tools, my patterns, notions – everything really. The one area I’m struggling with is organizing my fabric stash. Can you relate?

So – I’ve decided that this is the year to deal with this issue. I am working (with the help of my handy husband) on a rearrangement of my space and changing how I’m stashing my stash. Here are a few “before” pictures. I love this space! As you can see – it’s not very cluttered – but no way am I going to take pictures of the fabrics stashed behind those doors. Trust me – it’s not pretty. I’ll share the “after” pictures once we get the changes made.

Want to be as inspired as I was? Here’s the link to Lynn’s article – Best Fabric Storage Ideas. I hope you find an idea or two that inspires you too.
