Greetings, quilty friends! Many of you are new here, and I’m delighted to get to know you. If you’ve been here a while (and so many of you have been : ), you’ll remember that each year, starting the day after Thanksgiving, I share my take on the 12 Days of a Quilty Christmas.
I’ve been doing this in some form since 2012, and this year will be no exception. I always try to find some fun quilty goodies that make great gifts for quilty friends (or us?). I’ll be doing that this year too, because a few quilty treasures are always fun.
Something’s going to be a little different with Quilty Christmas this year
These are strange times we find ourselves in regardless of politics, beliefs, emotions, or the “noise” that can be so much a part of this time of year. I’ve been thinking about how I could help each of us take a breath and focus on something positive for just a few moments for each of these 12 days.
Here’s my plan: I have chosen a word to think about for each of the 12 days. I’ll share the days’ word and talk a bit about why I selected that word, where it came from (the origin) and how it relates to the creative practice (making anything with your hands and your heart).
My hope is that you’ll grab a cup of your favorite morning beverage and take a moment or two to sit with the word of the day and think about how that word fits into your own creative practice.
The words I’ve chosen have deep meaning for me, and I hope that some of them connect with you as well.
Here’s how it’s going to work
Each morning about 6:00am (Pacific Time), the word of the day will find its way into your inbox. It will be there when you and your favorite cuppa are ready to take a moment and a deep breath.

This is a bit of an experiment, and I’m hoping that you enjoy both the change to the 12 Days of a Quilty Christmas – and the quilty goodies. I’d love to know what you think about the words I’ve selected once you’ve had a chance to think about them.
