Sometimes – we just need a little time away. It’s been a jam-packed summer and Jim and I were ready for a few days off before all the fall activities really kick off. Last week we packed up our tiny trailer and headed off for a road trip. Our destination? Washington wine country – from the Red Mountain area north and west to the Yakima area.
Our plan? Great food, great wine, antiquing, and some slow sewing (for me), and a good book (for Jim). Mission accomplished (well – except for Jim reading that book).
Here are just a few of the highlights from our journey this past week.
I did get to visit a couple of quilt shops – including The Sewing Basket in Prosser. I had heard that this shop had an amazing amount of fabric – but I had no idea they had so much. I took a few pictures in the “annex” – behind the shop. It must be seen to be believed! There was so much fabric in the shop (an old house) – that pictures were impossible (so I just shopped ; )
And the slow sewing? I managed to make four more “hexie” flowers for my memory quilt. Hundreds more to go.
All in all – it was a wonderful week, a great road trip adventure and I can’t wait to do it again. Now it’s back to work!
